How to read retail planograms

Read the instructions written directly on images on the diagram. Look at color highlighting on the plan-o-gram and compare it to a color key at the top, or lower left or right corner of the page, to learn more about the types or styles of products to use on the fixtures. On the list, compare the location identifiers - Loc IDs - with the numbers, letters or alphanumeric codes on each facing - the plan-o-gram term for row - on the schematic to determine the placement of a specific product.Ĭross-reference product SKU numbers on the list, and Universal Product Code numbers if applicable, against actual merchandise in stock to confirm that you have enough of a product and that you’re selecting the correct product for the fixtures. Review the Stock Keeping Unit list to identify and learn specifics about each of the products that you need to place on a fixture.
